We have an immediate need for a UXO Technician I to support our client base in Fort Irwin, CA.
In a typical day the UXO Technician will:
Inspect MD and other material as part of the MPPEH process in order to establish the potential presence of energetic material.
Be familiar with and perform work in accordance with the project Work Plan (WP), Explosives Safety Submission (ESS), Health & Safety Plan, research documents, and professionally-accepted practices.
Operation of heavy equipment by properly trained personnel.
Other duties as directed by the SUXOS.
The top candidate will be a graduate of a UXO Technician I Course or a Military EOD School of the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Germany, or Australia. In addition, candidates must have the 40hr HAZWOPER certification, along with any applicable 8hr HAZWOPER refresher course, as well as meet the minimum qualifications for the position as mandated by DDESB Technical Paper 18 (TP-18). The ability to understand project requirements based on interpretation of project plans and specifications along with maintaining strong communication skills. Must be able to bend over frequently and be able to lift to 50 lbs regularly.
The hourly rate for this position is $33.41, plus $4.93 towards health and welfare dollars.
