Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate long-term substitute to join our educational team. As a long-term substitute, you will play a vital role in maintaining a positive learning environment for students in the absence of their regular teacher. This position offers an opportunity to work with students ensuring that educational standards are upheld and that students receive the support they need to succeed. This is a temporary position for a long-term substitute in our First Grade self-contained classroom. The position will begin on March 1, 2025 and end on May 23, 2025.
Responsibilities
- Implement lesson plans provided by the regular teacher, ensuring continuity of instruction.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a conducive learning environment.
- Communicate clearly with students, fostering an atmosphere of respect and engagement.
- Assist students with literacy education and math concepts, adapting instruction as needed.
- Provide support for early childhood education activities, particularly in preschool settings.
- Engage in lesson planning when required, contributing ideas for future classes.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to help them achieve their educational goals.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and report any issues or concerns to school administration.
Experience
- Previous experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with behavior management techniques to effectively handle classroom dynamics.
- Background in early childhood education or tutoring is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with students and staff.
- Knowledge of literacy education strategies and math instruction methodologies is beneficial.
- Experience in lesson planning is a plus, demonstrating initiative and creativity in teaching approaches.
