Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Part-Time Art Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire students through engaging and culturally responsive art education. The Art Teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing a curriculum that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and a love for the arts. This is a part-time position.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver an engaging and age-appropriate art curriculum for middle school students (grades 5-8).
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student expression and creativity.
Integrate art history, cultural awareness, and different art mediums into the curriculum.
Assess and evaluate student progress through projects, participation, and other assessment tools.
Organize and display student artwork throughout the school and in school-wide events.
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to integrate art into other subject areas.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and participation.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
Previous teaching experience, preferably in a middle school setting.
Strong knowledge of various art techniques, materials, and art history.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Commitment to the mission of Nativity Prep and to the education of young boys from low-income families.
