What are the responsibilities and job description for the Credit Risk Officer - Securitization position at Natixis Corporate & Investment Banking?
The Director- or ED-level Credit Officer’s primary responsibility is to review and assess, from a credit risk perspective, various proposals from the Global Structured Credit and Solutions (GSCS) group. The proposals are likely to include CLO warehouse/lending facilities, capital call facilities, and ABS warehouse/lending facilities, among others. The Credit Officer will be part of the Natixis Credit Risk Financial Institutions Group (FIG).
He/she/they should:
- Be familiar with due diligence and analysis requirements for counterparties and structured products.
- Have experience analyzing securitized products’ and/or warehouses’ credit agreements and structures, including performing and reviewing stress tests based on the proposed collateral.
- Be able to identify and concisely describe the potential risk(s) and positive attributes of each proposal, with the ultimate goal of supporting the business while avoiding undue risks and credit loss.
- Undertake other tasks and projects as need, as part of the broader FIG team.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Conduct detailed credit analysis and risk assessments, with a primary focus on structured credit and securitized product proposals.
- Conduct due diligence calls or visits when appropriate; professionally represent the bank with clients.
- Prepare written risk opinions and analyses; articulate a convincing case in support of the risk opinion.
- Work with bankers and originators to meet closing deadlines without sacrificing the quality of credit analysis.
- Review deal documents and challenge Front Office’s analysis when appropriate.
- Present to senior management and credit committees.
- Monitor existing GSCS portfolio and covenant compliance, with an eye on early warning indicators of credit risk deterioration in the portfolio.
- Stay connected with industry trends and macro issues which may impact the portfolio and recommend changes or actions impacting specific clients or groups of clients, as appropriate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Graduate degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years’ previous risk management experience, specifically geared towards the analysis of structured products and securitizations.
- Experience with other financial institutions and entities (e.g., banks, private equity funds, hedge funds, regulated funds, insurance companies, and broker/dealers) is a plus.
- Knowledge of credit risk monitoring systems and methodologies.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to think abstractly and project various “what-if” scenarios.

The salary range for the Director-level position will be between $190,000 - $225,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.
The salary range for the ED-level position will be between $230,000 - $280,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.
