US Desk Strategist

The Vice President-level US Desk Strategist for the Americas will be responsible for developing strategic insights and visibility for the US-based team. This role primarily focuses on formulating views on US rates and Latin American FX/rates. The US Desk Strategist will play a key role in coordinating with the US-based Economist in NYC and the research team of strategists in Paris.

He/she/they will be part of the Natixis CIB Research team, reporting locally to the Chief Economist of the Americas & Sales/Trading, and globally to the Head of Strategy based in Paris. This position will involve collaboration across the organization, partnering with US economists and key business units to provide insights and facilitate deal closure across all Natixis CIB teams.

• Develop US interest rate scenarios in collaboration with Paris-based strategists and New York-based economists.
• Create and maintain recommendations for US rates strategy.
• Conduct inter-market analysis based on financial asset specifics and macroeconomic factors alongside US Economists.
• Continuously monitor dynamics in US interest rates, including IRS and Treasuries.
• Manage and produce specific recommendations within the US rates space.
• Collaborate with the Latin American economist to express views through recommendations in the LatAm FX/rates space.
• Partner with the Communications team to identify optimal channels and formats for delivering content to the media, enhancing Natixis' profile and brand awareness in the Americas.
• Support Global Markets teams locally and globally by sharing insights on US rates.
• Attend client meetings to promote Natixis Research's perspectives on US rates and support the Global Markets flow business.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Physics, or Mathematics; Master’s or Ph.D. is a plus.
• 5 years of experience in US trading/strategy or a related field; advanced analytical and modeling skills are essential.
• Experience in international or regional organizations is a plus.
• Dynamic presentation skills with the ability to deliver insightful content to business leaders and clients.
• Highly effective communication skills with the ability to inspire and engage others.
• Strong commitment to consistently delivering high-quality results, with a deep technical understanding and attention to detail.
• Ability to navigate a matrixed environment with multiple stakeholders, including senior-level executives.
• Proven ability to lead research initiatives aligned with business objectives.
• Proficient in Bloomberg, Microsoft Excel, programming languages, and relevant statistical software (e.g., Python, R, EViews, Stata).

The salary range for this position will be between $200,000 - $250,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.
