Natural Bridge Caverns is seeking a passionate and dynamic Human Resources Generalist to join our team as the Human Resources Assistant Manager. The Human Resources Assistant Manager assists the Human Resources Director in planning, organizing, and administration of the Human Resources Department. The Human Resources Assistant Manager helps manage all aspects of employee relations and related activities, including safety, recruiting, and communication between employees and management. This role provides administrative support to the human resource function as needed, including record-keeping, file maintenance and ensures effective use of ATS and PEO entries. This position assists with enforcing company policies and practices. The Human Resources Assistant Manager provides a positive environment for our guests and employees while being a proactive member of the Natural Bridge Caverns family.

Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with developing, coordination, and implementation of personnel policies, employee handbook, and safety administration.
Recruit, hire, and onboard new employees in coordination with the HR Director and other staffing team members.
Collaborate with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
Assist with the management of all employment and personnel operations.
Assist with maintaining a personnel records system that complies with the demands of the law and good management practice.
Assist with the creation of safety procedures and conduct safety training.
Assist with the communication to employees about all employee benefit programs.
Assist with maintaining the company’s compensation plan.
Track status of candidates in ATS and respond with follow-up letters at the end of the recruiting process.
Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training.
Run new employee background checks and provide employment verifications when requested.
Complete I-9 forms, verifies I-9 documentation and maintain I-9 files.
Reconcile benefits statement and send to accounting for payment.
Conduct audits of payroll, benefits or other HR programs.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation.
Answer frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to appropriate senior-level management.
Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
Conduct new hire onboarding and employee recognition programs.
Conduct off-boarding of termed employees.
Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Assist with processing of employee disciplinary investigations and terminations.
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Assist with the compliance of workers’ compensation insurance, unemployment insurance, and the United States Department of Labor laws and regulations.
Assist with progressive discipline, hiring and terminations to ensure company practice complies with the demands of the law and good management practice.
Be familiar with all government policies, regulations, and laws that relate to personnel policies within the company.
Attend all required meetings.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Working Conditions
High School diploma or equivalent required.
1 or more year(s) Human Resource Generalist experience preferred.
Excellent guest relations skills.
Excellent communication, written, organizational, and planning skills required.
Have strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Ability to make quick, rational decisions which impact the organization.
Excellent employee relations and training skills.
Have the ability to execute multiple tasks contemporaneously.
Have excellent telephone skills.
Possess a good working knowledge of MS Office
Flexible working hours.
Requires working weekdays, some weekends and holidays.
Constant working with the public along with employees is required along with the ability to remain calm during stressful situations.
Occasional travel may be required.
Occasional lifting of at least 25 lbs.
