Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician Apprentice is an entry level position designed to provide hands-on training and mentorship for a variety of maintenance tasks. This position is responsible for supporting the Machine Maintenance team in maintaining and improving manufacturing equipment performance, repairs, and equipment installation. The apprentice will assist in troubleshooting and conducting preventative maintenance, while working under the guidance of experienced technicians and supervisors to gain the required skills and knowledge. This is a training position to allow individuals to complete for advancement upon completion of the program.
A Sample of the Role:
- Assists in troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic production machinery under the supervision of the Machine Maintenance Technician. Supports preventative maintenance tasks on a scheduled basis to gain hands-on experience and ensure machinery operates efficiently. Learns to operate tools, equipment, and minor appliances while performing basic maintenance tasks.
- Assists in responding to equipment breakdowns by observing and supporting experienced technicians as they diagnose problems and perform repairs. Participates in routine inspections of manufacturing equipment and machinery, learning to identify potential issues and report them to the maintenance team.
- Supports collaboration with various departments by assisting in maintenance activities and observing coordination efforts to minimize impact on production schedules. Learns about proper machinery operation, maintenance, and repair techniques by assisting experienced technicians during employee training sessions.
- Learns to assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery by supporting experienced technicians and following detailed instructions, including factory attainment run off at suppliers.
- Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities by documenting inspections, parts usage, work orders and repairs.
- Learns to identify opportunities for process improvement through continued work with experienced technicians. Contributes ideas during team discussions on efficiency-enhancing initiatives.
- Adheres to safety protocols and procedures, promoting a culture of workplace safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
- May support retail operations with preventative, routine, and emergent maintenance needs.
- Assists the Machine Maintenance Technician with special projects as needed.
- Performs other duties as required.
Your Natural Ingredients to Win:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Vocational or technical training is a plus, but not required.
- On-the-job training, mentorship, and coursework is essential.
- Enrollment in or completion of a trade school program, related to maintenance, HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems, PLC and AutoCAD
- Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude with a strong interest in learning troubleshooting skills. Exposure to PLC systems and industrial controls is a plus.
- Strong interest in maintenance, mechanical systems, and problem solving.
- Able to understand and follow basic technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics with guidance from experienced team members.
- Able to obtain and maintain any required licenses or certifications as required.
- Demonstrates proficiency in the use of modern office equipment, technology, and software programs (i.e. Microsoft Office). Ability to learn mew programs and technology as needed, related to areas of responsibility.
- Possess a self-starting attitude and the ability to approach production challenges creatively, contributing innovative solutions that enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, respond independently to emergency maintenance situations, and travel to alternate business locations as required.
- Able to follow established procedures and carry out complex duties with minimal supervision. Able to assess and troubleshoot problems and take appropriate corrective action.
- Able to work as a team member and establish effective and cooperative working relationships while using tact, good judgment, and resourcefulness.
- Able to work effectively within deadlines, under stress, and with changing work priorities. Possesses self-supervising attributes and a positive and congenial attitude.
- Skilled in planning, organizing, and scheduling resources and activities. Has an attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Able to communicate and present information effectively both in verbal and written format to varied audiences.

Compensation:
