Are you passionate about animal care and looking for hands-on experience with a world-renowned organization? Natural Encounters, Inc. (NEI) is seeking Seasonal Keepers to join our team and contribute to the daily care and well-being of our animal collection. This temporary position is a great opportunity for individuals eager to expand their skills in a professional animal care setting. Salary $14.00 per hour.
What You'll Do:
- Prioritize the highest standards of animal welfare.
- Perform daily husbandry tasks, including cleaning, scrubbing, and disinfecting enclosures.
- Prepare and distribute animal diets.
- Create and implement approved enrichment activities.
- Observe animal behavior and report any health or welfare concerns to senior staff.
- Assist with data entry and record-keeping.
- Support animal training projects under the guidance of full-time trainers.
- Participate in baby bird feeding, as needed.

Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required. Previous animal care experience is helpful but not required.
- Work Conditions: Ability to work in warm, humid environments (90 degrees) and adapt to a busy, sometimes noisy setting.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for 8 hours per day.
- Availability: Willing to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Position Details:
- Duration: Temporary, up to 1,000 hours per year. Maximum of 39.5 hours per week.
