An athletic trainer working in occupational therapy would primarily focus on the rehabilitation and injury prevention of individuals with physical disabilities, utilizing their expertise in musculoskeletal evaluation, immediate care, and exercise prescription to help patients regain functional abilities and safely return to desired activities, often collaborating closely with occupational therapists to achieve optimal outcomes.
· Collaboration with OTs:
Working closely with occupational therapists to coordinate treatment plans, share expertise on musculoskeletal injuries, and ensure a seamless transition between phases of rehabilitation.
· Certification:
Athletic trainers working in occupational therapy should be certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).
