Natural Life Medicine is a well established clinic comprised of Naturopathic Medicine and Acupuncture services. We are looking for a responsible Medical Assistant to perform a variety of tasks. Primary duties of the Medical Assistant include providing support to our providers, assisting in daily office needs, and managing our company’s general administrative activities. Medical Assistant responsibilities include greeting patients, taking insurance, payments, processing paperwork, answering the phone, calling patients, projects, performing phlebotomy, taking vitals, providing injections, etc. They will also be in charge of keeping the clinic orderly and clean along with helping to maintain the laundry machines.
The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools, such as Mac, scanners, fax, Numbers/ MS Excel, and office equipment. Ultimately, a successful Medical Assistant should ensure the efficient and smooth day-to-day operation of our medical office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greet patients, take vitals, and place each patient in a clean room.
- Check in/check out patients, take new patient paperwork, scan and upload IDs and Insurance cards, schedule appointments, assist in supplement sales. Enter demographic and insurance information into EHR.
- Assist providers in examinations and treatments.
- Vitals: blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and respiration. Enter into EHR.
- Refill medication, send off imaging orders, obtain authorizations
- Clean treatment rooms, assist with laundry, sanitize treatment tools, etc.
- Perform phlebotomy and order blood draw supplies.
- Assist in specialty lab kit orders for patients to take home.
- Manage blood draw, IV, and supplement inventory.
- Monitor the waiting room
- Manage Quickbooks and Copays
- Answer phones and check voicemails
- Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms by end of day.
- Assist in the preparation of regularly scheduled projects and reports
- Maintain Electronic Health Records
- Update and maintain office policies and procedures
- Manage and sort all faxes to give to the appropriate staff and upload to EHR.
- Transcribe medical notes when needed to assist provider..
- Scan and upload diagnostics results, labs, and outside medical records to EHR.
SKILLS:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high expectations.
- Must have a valid CMA license.
- Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
- Proficiency in MAC and office programs
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
