ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM MANAGER I (SUPERVISORY) – NATURE-BASED SOLUTIONS (NBS) SENIOR COORDINATOR / CLIMATE CHANGE / CALIFORNIA NATURAL RESOURCES AGENCY
The reporting location for this position is Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the general direction of the Deputy Secretary.

The Environmental Program Manager (Supervisory) directs and takes charge of critical and/or sensitive public health, environmental, agricultural productivity, and natural resource management programs or components; carry authority and accountability for timely completion of program objectives and for submittal of satisfactory products; are responsible for operational planning and assigning of projects, budgeting for time and funds, reviewing and evaluating achievements, and preparing administrative reports. In response to Governor Newsom’s Executive Order N-82-20, the state of California has worked with diverse partners to strategically deepen and expand the role of nature-based solutions (NBS) in our climate policy and investments. This catalyzed a range of actions across state agencies. The NBS Senior Coordinator will advance California’s NBS climate agenda, including through driving successful development and implementation of related strategies, plans, policies, programs, and legislation; collaboration with interagency partners; coordination among CNRA departments; support for international partnerships; and more.

Flexible Work Schedule: This position is considered Remote-Centered, which means incumbent would telework 50% or more of the time within a work month from an alternate work location. The position incumbent can telework with a management approved telework agreement and schedule. CNRA staff are required to work from CNRA headquarters located in Sacramento a minimum of two days a week.

Department Information

The California Natural Resources Agency (CNRA) is a state cabinet-level agency in the government of California. Through its 40 departments, conservancies, boards, commissions, councils, and museums, the California Natural Resources Agency is responsible for protecting historical, natural, and cultural sites, monitoring and controlling state lands and waterways, and regulating fish and game use.
