Position Summary
The Fertigation Technician is responsible for executing irrigation and nutrient delivery protocols to ensure optimal plant health and performance throughout the cultivation facility. This role requires daily monitoring, mixing, and application of nutrient solutions, along with maintenance of irrigation systems and documentation of inputs and schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and mix nutrient and irrigation solutions according to feeding schedules and SOPs.
- Monitor irrigation systems to ensure consistent delivery of water and nutrients to all grow rooms.
- Log daily nutrient applications, volumes, and plant response in cultivation records.
- Clean and maintain fertigation equipment, tanks, lines, and injectors.
- Troubleshoot and report any malfunctions in the irrigation system.
- Assist cultivation team with plant checks, watering needs, and feeding schedule adjustments.
- Perform EC and pH testing to verify solution strength and adjust as needed.
- Ensure safety and cleanliness in the fertigation room and all associated equipment.
- Work collaboratively with other cultivation team members to meet crop targets.
- Follow all compliance, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Exposure to humidity, nutrient smells, water, and cleaning chemicals.
- Comfortable working in PPE when handling nutrients and sanitizers.
Work Schedule & Environment
- Full-time position with a regular schedule of Saturday through Wednesday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- May require occasional flexibility in hours based on cultivation needs.
- Work is performed indoors in controlled grow environments.
Competencies
- Must pass all required state and federal background checks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to follow precise measurement and mixing procedures.
- Comfortable using meters and monitoring tools (EC, pH, etc.).
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and authorized to work in the U.S.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous fertigation, irrigation, or cultivation experience.
