Position Summary

The Delivery Driver at NatureMed provides a personalized experience with each order received and delivered directly to the customer. Delivery Drivers are on-time, professional, and friendly. Delivery team members are well versed in compliance matters as they relate to the exchange, transportation, and transaction of cannabis within the territory. Drivers are ultimately responsible for the complete and accurate delivery of cannabis products and safe return of payment, superb driving skills and compliant delivery practices.

The Delivery Supervisor coordinates driver activities and routes, on behalf of the store manager.

Delivery Drivers earn $16.50 - $18.50 per hour, plus tip share.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

The Delivery Driver’s key responsibilities are to:

  • Arrive on time, with a great attitude, ready to assist the team, patients, and patrons every day.
  • Maintain a clean and organized delivery department.
  • Follow consistent delivery order, fulfillment, scheduling and delivery processes.
  • Maintain files according to state and local regulations.
  • Manage and maintain up to date patient records in accordance with state and HIPPA regulations.
  • Follow compliance standards.
  • Load, unload, prepare, and inspect delivery vehicle(s).
  • Report any vehicle maintenance concerns to the Delivery Supervisor.

Complete delivery orders:

  • Receive orders by phone and on-line.
  • Practice excellent customer service skills to answer questions and resolve concerns.
  • Communicate sales, discounts, and daily specials to customers
  • Consistently follow product handling procedures to ensure orders are filled accurately and inventory is maintained.
  • Build the manifest.
  • Follow delivery routes and time schedules to efficiently deliver orders to customers.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating delivery vehicles.
  • Safely operate delivery vehicles in various weather conditions.
  • Communicate expected delivery time/date with customers, including any delays.
  • Adhere to all delivery regulations and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Consistently use cash handling and debit transaction procedures.
  • Refer customer concerns, returns, and/or exchanges to the Delivery Supervisor or Manager on Duty (MOD) for resolution.
  • Participate in and contribute to all team meetings.
  • Continue your education with ongoing training.
  • Support dispensary operations, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

Required:

  • Reliable and extremely trustworthy.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Must have a valid driver’s license (E class preferred) and maintain clean driving record for 24 months.
  • Two (2) years of customer service and/or delivery experience.
  • One (1) year of budtending experience.
  • Highly accurate cash and product handling skills.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Effective verbal communication skills.
  • Able to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
  • Detail-oriented and systematic.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems.
  • Experience using MSOffice and Google (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, drive, etc.)
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous delivery experience, preferred.
  • Knowledge of cannabis and regulations, preferred.
  • Knowledge of local roads and routes, beneficial.
  • Passionate about learning everything about cannabis products and consumption methods.

Physical Requirements

As a Delivery Driver you will be required to frequently sit at a computer to complete work for long periods of time. This position requires frequent driving, entering and exiting a vehicle, and sitting for long periods of time. This position may share small workspaces with the delivery team and move about in confined spaces to fulfill orders. This position may also require some bending, kneeling, stretching, and reaching, to locate product and complete routine tasks. The Delivery Driver must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 25 pounds multiple times per day; and may be required to occasionally safely lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds.

Schedule

The schedule for this position varies and is based on operational needs. Store hours are from 8 am to 10 pm, 7 days a week, and open most holidays (364 days a year). The Delivery Driver may be scheduled for shifts that are 8-10 hours long and provide coverage that best supports their team and delivery schedule. The Driver’s schedule may require extended hours, both day and afternoon shifts, weekends and holidays.

This position is required to report to their assigned location, in-person.

Travel

Frequent travel within the delivery area is required daily. The delivery team uses NatureMed’s vehicles to complete all deliveries.

Conditions of Employment

NatureMed is an E-Verify employer and may conduct criminal and financial background investigations for this position, prior to finalizing any job offer.

Delivery Drivers must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record. All delivery team members must be insurable, based on the Company’s insurance carrier criteria and approval.

Delivery team members must have a working cell phone with LTE service (no Wi-Fi or texting apps), and must be able to contact customers if needed without Wi-Fi.

All team members must be 21 years old.

All NatureMed team members are required to obtain and retain a Facility Agent license through the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS), or the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (MDHSS), as a condition of their employment.
