What You'll Do!
The Inventory Supervisor will play a critical role in overseeing inventory management processes and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while reporting directly to the Inventory Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all activities related to inventory, including receiving, storing, and distributing products within the cultivation facility.
- Lead and manage a team of inventory clerks, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and accurate inventory management.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory standards and internal policies related to inventory management, maintaining meticulous records for compliance purposes.
- Oversee inventory levels, conducting regular audits, and implementing inventory control measures to prevent discrepancies.
- Monitor product quality and expiry dates, ensuring that inventory is maintained in optimal condition and reporting any issues to the Inventory Manager.
- Prepare and present reports on inventory levels, stock movements, discrepancies, and any other inventory-related metrics to the Inventory Manager.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement improvements to streamline inventory management procedures.
- Liaise with other departments, such as cultivation, production, and logistics, to coordinate inventory movements and stock availability.
- Provide ongoing training and support to inventory staff, ensuring a high standard of knowledge and performance within the team.
- Maintain a safe and secure working environment for inventory handling, following safety protocols and preventing unauthorized access to inventory areas.
Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in inventory management.
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within inventory management, preferably in the cannabis industry or a similar regulated environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of inventory management systems and software.
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory requirements in the cannabis industry.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team.
- Analytical skills with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Physical Requirements:
- Standing and Walking: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, as the role involves moving throughout the dispensary and storage areas to manage inventory.
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of inventory, boxes, or supplies. You may need to move stock from storage to sales floors or assist with restocking shelves.
- Bending, Squatting, and Reaching: Must be able to bend, squat, and reach to organize and stock products at various heights, including low shelves and high storage areas.
- Climbing: Occasional use of ladders or step stools may be required to access higher shelves or storage locations.
- Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle products with care, sort and organize items, label products accurately, and use inventory management software with precision.
- Good Vision: Must have clear vision to read labels, check product details, inspect inventory, and maintain accurate stock records.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to visually inspect items for damage or discrepancies and ensure inventory records are accurate.
- Repetitive Tasks: Ability to perform repetitive tasks, such as scanning barcodes, organizing products, and counting inventory without loss of focus.
- Movement and Flexibility: Must be able to bend, reach, lift, and maneuver boxes or products in tight spaces within storage areas.
- Endurance: Must have the stamina to complete inventory checks, manage stock levels, and fulfill other physical tasks throughout a typical workday.
