In addition to frontline leadership, this position will work closely with the Operations Site Leader on data analytics, performance monitoring, and the implementation of strategic initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervisory Duties (Coverage & Support)
- Provide shift coverage and leadership across production lines and packaging, and areas as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, GMP, and regulatory requirements (e.g., USDA, FDA, SQF).
- Oversee daily production activities to meet safety, quality, and output goals.
- Serve as a point of contact for shift employees, supporting engagement, training, and issue resolution.
- Facilitate shift handoffs and maintain consistent communication across teams.
- Support the Operations Site Leader by tracking and analyzing production KPIs such as yield, throughput, downtime, and labor efficiency.
- Assist in preparing weekly/monthly reports and dashboards to monitor operational performance.
- Identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas for process improvement using data and lean manufacturing tools.
- Contribute to the execution of continuous improvement projects, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and HR to support overall plant performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in food science, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related field preferred; equivalent experience accepted.
- 3 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP, SQF (or other GFSI standards), and food safety compliance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume production setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and familiar with ERP systems and basic data analytics tools.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Flexibility to work various shifts and rotate coverage based on business needs.
- Frequent time spent on the production floor in dry food-processing environment.
- Must follow all personal protective equipment (PPE) and food safety guidelines.
- Occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work may be required to support shift coverage.
