What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor - Days (4 on and 4 off) position at Nature's Path?
Principal Tasks
- Supervising and coordinating team members on-shift to execute NP’s core operating processes, including the GMP’s, SOP’s, supply management, TQM and LEAN, to ensure quality product, best value for customers, and efficiencies and cost structures that optimize profitability;
- Ensuring production for the shift is on-schedule and within budget, including the utilization of materials and resources, and minimizing waste.
- Coordinating efforts with the Leadership Team to ensure that team members are being trained to meet the current and future needs of the organization, in a planned manner—provides recommendations to Production Manager regarding training not attainable on the floor
- Working with the Production Manager to coordinate preventative maintenance to optimize performance of equipment and facilities
- Ensures accountability by dealing with conflict in a respectful, forthright, and timely way so that problems do not fester;
- Coordinating with multiple departments, using various tools and technologies, to facilitate ongoing communication and coordination in key areas, including the Product Development Team (R&D), work scheduling, and the Capital Planning and Purchasing Team
- Participate in the selection of staff; coordinate staff training with experienced team members; work with team members to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures. Provide timely, accurate, and thorough Performance Reviews for supervised team members.
- Using problem solving methods to resolve inter-departmental work issues
- Consistently setting a personal example in leadership, as “servant leader” – in attendance, engagement, and participation, with a positive attitude, and having the willingness to work alongside team members when the occasion arises
- Ensuring that all staff respect and abide with Natures Path’s Policies
- Working with the Production Manager to efficiently plan the utilization of materials and other resources to minimize waste and obtain optimum returns on assets employed
- Ensuring that each team member is properly trained to make the decisions required for their job

Qualifications & Experience
- Four-year college degree and/or equivalent relevant work experience
- 3 to 5 years of in a manufacturing environment
- Food-specific experience preferred (EX: HACCP, SQF, QAI, Kosher, etc.)
- Previous supervisory experience of large teams (up to 60)
- Must be familiar with manufacturing control and scheduling software; strong background in Microsoft Office.
- Strong safety awareness; basic understanding of OSHA and safety procedures
Wage: $79,980.75 - $88,867.50/year DOE
Shift: 6AM-6:30PM
