About the Role:
We're currently seeking a Material Handler Night Shift to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our mission of sustainability and quality. In this role, you'll be responsible for operating a forklift safely and efficiently, ensuring continuous production operation of packaging lines, and following our safety, quality, and production procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Operate the forklift in accordance with plant forklift rules and regulations.
- Perform safety checks on the forklift; log and report any safety discrepancies with the Production Supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for all team members and notify the Production Supervisor or lead of any equipment or personnel safety issues immediately.
- Follow all aspects of the Lock Out Tag Out program.
- Ensure continuous production operation of packaging lines and follow Nature's Path's safety, quality, and production procedures.
- Verify that all proper paperwork and materials are used, including pallets, slip sheets, WIP paperwork, and finished skid labeling paperwork is documented accordingly.
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance to ensure that all products meet quality standards.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and Lean Initiatives as set forth by management.
- Ensure that all finished goods are properly labeled and staged for shipping.
- Maintain an accurate and detailed operator's log.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 6-12 months forklift and standup forklift experience is required.
- Production experience preferred.
- Proven problem-solving ability with mechanical understanding of machinery.
- Experience working both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic math and computer skills desirable.
