We are seeking a dynamic and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Garden Center Sales Associate. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about gardening and enjoys hands-on work in a retail environment.
Responsibilities:
Customer Assistance: Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with inquiries, offering gardening advice, and guiding them through product selections.
Sales: Actively promote and sell garden center merchandise including plants, gardening tools, fertilizers, and outdoor decor.
Plant Care: Take responsibility for the health and appearance of plants in the garden center. This includes planting, watering, pruning, and applying fertilizers as needed to maintain optimal plant health.
Inventory Management: Receive, organize, and maintain inventory levels. Ensure products are properly labeled, priced, and displayed according to company standards.
Visual Merchandising: Create visually appealing displays to showcase seasonal products and drive sales. Regularly refresh displays to maintain an inviting shopping environment
Product Knowledge: Stay up-to-date with the latest gardening trends, plant care techniques, and product features. Share your knowledge with customers to help them make informed purchasing decisions.
Operational Support: Assist with various operational tasks such as stocking shelves, organizing inventory, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the garden center.
Requirements:
Previous experience in retail sales, with a preference for experience in a garden center or related industry.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Hands-on experience with planting, watering, and general plant care techniques.
Knowledge of gardening principles, plant varieties, and landscaping practices is a plus.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly and perform physically demanding tasks in an outdoor environment.
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
Flexibility to work a varied schedule including weekends and holidays.
