Each week staff work with one group to implement lessons, games, stories and other activities centered around that week’s theme. The majority of campers are in the 1st-2nd age group or 3rd-4th age group. This role is ideal for people interested in gaining experience in elementary and/or outdoor education, environmental science and summer camps. The role is a full-time, seasonal position beginning June 9, 2025 and runs for 10 weeks until August 15, 2025.

  • Manage campers’ physical and emotional safety in outdoor settings using sound judgment and applying appropriate risk management policies and decisions; administer and document first aid as needed.
  • Maintain camper safety and comfort over uneven terrain in all kinds of weather.
  • Proactively engage campers and manage safety in games and activities during early care (8am – 9:15am) and/or aftercare (3:30pm- 5:15pm).
  • Work collaboratively with another staff member to lead a group of campers and give and receive feedback
  • Lead at least one required curriculum activity each week.
  • Participate in meetings and trainings as assigned.
  • Provide occasional on-call and other program support roles as needed.
