About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our accounting team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting senior staff with various accounting functions. This role is ideal for someone with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Balance sheet accounts Reconciliations.
- Sales and Use Tax preparations and payments
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Prepare and review accounts payable and receivable.
- Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and liaise with auditors.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local accounting regulations.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing process.
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve issues.
- Assist with payroll processing and tax filings as needed.
- Provide support to senior accounting staff and contribute to process improvements.
- Various tasks assigned based on business demands.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 1-3 years of accounting experience (internships and entry-level experience accepted).
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative team player.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
