What are the responsibilities and job description for the Men’s Health and Wellness Physician Assistant position at NAU Urology Specialists?
NAU Urology Specialists is looking for a caring, motivated Physician Assistant to expand our current Men’s Health and Wellness service.
Must be team-oriented and patient-centered. Urology experience is preferred but will train the right individual.
At NAU Urology Specialists we firmly believe in individualized medicine with a strong focus on lifestyle and whole-body healing. Regarding lifestyle, we meet patients where they are and use motivational interviewing techniques to improve compliance. Our treatment modalities are evidence-based recommendations on nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress coping mechanisms and supplements. However, we also recommend medication and surgery when needed.
Our growing team includes 4 physicians, 2 nurse practitioners, 4 physician assistants, and 2 physical therapists.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnosis and treatment.
- All medically related functions performed by a nurse practitioner/ physician assistant are to be performed under the supervision of properly licensed physician Orders diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, ultrasounds and laboratory tests, and interpret test results.
- Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions and refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.
Job Requirements Required Qualifications:
- Certified ACLS or able to obtain prior to start
- Working Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations including the requirements of the HIPAA and OSHA and applicable state rules and regulations pertinent to medical practice
- Ability to learn computer software programs; enter and maintain accurate data and statistical information in order to consistently prepare clear and concise reports, correspondence and other written materials
- Ability to Prescribe dosages and instruct patients in correct usage (this includes uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods)
- Ability to travel to other centers with a set work schedule
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year of clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, retail care, primary care and/or ambulatory care setting.
