What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Health Aide (HHA) position at Nautical Home Care?
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and assistance to clients in their homes
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Medication reminders as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Follow care plans and instructions provided by healthcare professionals
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and care team members
Requirements:
- No previous experience in a healthcare setting, such as a nursing home or hospital, is required
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures
- Ability to provide compassionate care to clients of all ages
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients and families.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of infection control procedures and practices
- Ability to lift and move patients as needed (within safe limits)
- Certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is preferred but not required
Note: Experience in hospice care, catheter care, and medication administration is a plus.
