Job Summary:
Manual machinists are skilled, dexterous individuals who drill, cut, and shape items both manually and with machine tools. Knowledge of machine mill, lathes, drill presses, saws, and grinders is a must. It is important for these technicians to follow specific protocols by reading blueprints and using computers on various types of machinery.

Daily Tasks:
- Compute dimensions
- Determine machining operation to be performed
- Fit and assemble machined metal parts/subassemblies
- Measure and lay out work pieces
- Plan the best sequence of operations
- Set up and program machine tools
- Set up, operate, and maintain machine tools
- Verify dimensions of products
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma (or equivalent)
- At least one year of prior experience in a similar role
- Trade certification is a plus
