What are the responsibilities and job description for the Veterinary Technician position at Nautilus Avian & Exotics Veterinary Specialists?
Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable. professional, and motivated veterinary technician to fill a full-time position in our growing practice. A solid foundation of veterinary technical skills is required with preference to competencies in surgery and anesthesia: CVT (or equivalent) or 1 years experience is preferred. Exotic experience preferred, but we will train the right candidate. We offer a competitive salary, 401K, health care plan (medical, dental, vision) and PTO (vacation, sick)
Responsibilities:
- Perform various veterinary procedures under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian
- Assist in surgical procedures including preparation, monitoring, and post-operative care
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients
Qualifications:
-CVT (or equivalent) or 1 plus year experience is preferred
- Proficiency in veterinary terminology and procedures
- Experience in animal handling and care
- Strong communication skills with both pet owners and team members
