JOB SUMMARY:
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for maintaining inventory counts and quality control procedures for incoming and outgoing product shipments. The Receiving Clerk is also responsible for unloading delivery trucks and checking incoming shipments against product invoices, organizing and storing shipments until outgoing orders are requested and notifying management personnel when product quantities are too low to fulfill orders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares orders in time for delivery and/or pick up
- Picks up items from storage and assigns them to the delivery pallet
- Count, weigh or measure items of incoming shipments in order to verify information against invoices, orders, bills of lading or other records
- Examine and unpack incoming shipments; record shortages and reject damaged items
- Examine incoming shipments to ensure they meet specifications
- Operate lift truck or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage area
- Check in inbound inventory and administer the processing
- Trace and track shipments to ensure timely delivery
- Responsible for monitoring the returns process
- Sort, count, identify, verify and track all material by utilizing the tracking system to maintain accurate inventory records
- Verify receipts and log them according to required procedures
- Investigate and resolve situations where items received are not properly documented in the daily receipt log
- Labels items according to shipment orders
- Ensures correct quantity of items are packed according to company protocols
- Verifies inventory appropriately and conducts audits to ensure quality
- Assists in loading and unloading trucks
- Packs materials and items in their designated boxes and seals and labels them properly
- Counts physical inventory and prepares parcels for mailing purposes
- Practices security and safety rules in order to ensure best safety practices
- Other duties assigned by the Repair Manager
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Requires a High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of prior distribution experience is required
- Must possess a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job
- Prior manufacturing experience preferred
- Must possess good written and verbal communication skills
