Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate General Surgeon to join our medical team in the Petersburg, WV area.
Responsibilities
- Perform general surgical procedures, including but not limited to abdominal, gastrointestinal, endocrine, and soft tissue surgeries.
- Provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care to surgical patients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Participate in emergency on-call rotations as needed.
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient information, surgical procedures, and follow-up care.
- Educate patients and families on treatment options, risks, and post-surgical care.
- Engage in continuous medical education to stay current with advancements in the field of surgery.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Board Certification or eligibility in General Surgery.
- Valid state medical license or ability to obtain licensure in West Virginia.
- Strong clinical and surgical skills with a commitment to patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in a rural or community hospital setting is a plus.
