What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cart Nurse (12-Hour Shift) position at Nava Healthcare?
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Cart Nurses to join our team in our Skilled Nursing Facility in Russellville. The Cart Nurse will be responsible in administering medications to residents, monitoring their health, and providing direct patient care in the facility. This role ensures that residents receive the correct medications at the right times and helps maintain a high standard of care and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare and administer medications to residents according to prescribed schedules.
- Ensure proper documentation of medication administration in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Monitor residents for side effects and adverse reactions to medications and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Maintain and manage the medication cart, ensuring it is well-stocked, organized, and secure.
- Provide direct nursing care to residents, including monitoring vital signs, performing routine health assessments, and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other members of the healthcare team regarding care plans and medication regimens.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective care delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations and facility policies regarding medication administration and patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all nursing and medication-related activities.
Requirements:
- Education: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) degree from an accredited nursing program.
- Licensure: Current nursing license (LPN or RN) in the state of employment.
- Experience: Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility is preferred but not required.
