JOB PURPOSE :
The Counseling Education Assistant Professor provides high-quality instruction and facilitates meaningful learning experiences. The instructor ensures that course competencies are effectively taught and applied, fostering students' academic and professional growth in counseling and clinical practice.
This position adheres to all terms and provisions outlined in the NTU faculty contract and requires expertise in counseling and clinical training, as well as prior teaching experience. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Develops, selects, and maintains current curriculum, course materials, and instructional resources, including ordering course books and supplies.
- Creates and maintains a learning environment that supports student success and engagement.
- Prepares lesson plans using diverse instructional strategies to meet students' educational, social, and emotional needs.
- Instructs students in their field of study and evaluates their progress through assessments, tests, and feedback.
- Supervises and mentors student interns to ensure meaningful and productive learning experiences.
- Maintains accurate attendance records and submits required reports.
- Advises students on degree or certificate programs, referring them to specialized services when needed.
- Provides timely progress evaluations, performance feedback, and grades.
- Participates in community service initiatives and promotes student involvement.
- Supports accreditation efforts by assisting in program reviews and measuring student outcomes.
- Contributes to student recruitment and retention efforts.
- Holds regular office hours to assist students and help them secure internships.
- Participates in faculty meetings, committees, and professional development activities.
- Maintains confidentiality of all privileged information.
- May conduct research, identify grant opportunities, and submit proposals.
- May advise student clubs and collaborate with colleagues on shared initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
