What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gas Utility Worker position at Navajo Tribal Utility Authority?
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :
High School Diploma or GED certificate
6 - 12 months experience in Natural Gas Construction, Operation and Maintenance.
Requires a CDL Class "A" with Hazmat Endorsement (subject to motor vehicle review). CDL Learners permit is to be validated to CDL Class "A" with Hazmat Endorsement within (6) months from date of employment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES
Operates equipment required for the installation of gas lines including backhoes, trenching machines, dump trucks, boring machines, and air compressors.
Assists in the construction of natural gas mains and distribution lines.
Operates Authority-owned equipment in a manner which subjects it to normal wear and tear.
Assists in the installation and maintenance of natural gas meters.
Assists in the installation of plumbing of natural gas lines.
Assists in natural gas line construction projects.
Assists in the maintenance of cathodic protection systems including the installation or replacement of anodes and installation of the monitoring and testing equipment.
Repairs leaks in natural gas main and distribution systems.
Maintains quality / quantity standards regarding output.
Prepares reports and records on appropriate forms on daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
Performs job duties in a safety conscious manner that reflects safety work habits.
Performs standby duties and responds to natural gas emergencies in a safe and conscious manner.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
