MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
Vocational/Specialized Training in the Electric Line.
Journeyman Certification from a Bonafide Apprenticeship program as Lineman.
5 - 7 years' experience in Electrical Construction.
5 - 7 years' experience in the Electrical Field.
5 - 7 Supervisory experience required.
Proficiency in Microsoft skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Projects & Outlook).
Valid Commercial Driver's License, Class "A" (subject to motor vehicle record review).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Supervises the activities of a crew while working on energized transmission, distribution lines, energized substation equipment during major construction and maintenance jobs or restoration of service, including underground lines.
Repairs electric distribution systems and substations in order to maintain service to customers.
Maintains records of all electric lines inspected and maintained on a monthly and annual basis and completes required RUS-NTUA inspection/maintenance forms.
Analyzes electrical outage reports, develops monthly & annual reports and completes the required RUS-NTUA forms.
Supervises and assists in construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution lines such as; framing poles, installing anchors, installing secondary lines and transformers.
Conducts regular safety meetings.
Assists in investigating customer complaints pertaining to voltage problems, required to climb poles, etc., and takes corrective action.
Supervises employees directly including selection, training, performance appraisal and work allocation.
Updates, develops, schedules, and coordinates switching procedures.
Instructs and trains apprentices in work procedures applicable to each apprentice level.
Patrols and inspects lines and schedules maintenance requirements in the multiple utilities and maintain records.
Performs substation inspections in accordance with established procedures.
Manages Authority resources for optimum efficiency and production.
Reviews drawings, specifications and work orders and evaluates projects assigned to crews.
Plans and implements work with little supervision including maintaining budgets, schedules and reports.
Conducts inspections on non-NTUA work, such as meter-loop installation.
Plans installation and maintenance of underground cables and transformers.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
