What are the responsibilities and job description for the Network Technician position at Navajo Tribal Utility Authority?
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or Equivalent Experience
1-3 years' experience in computer networking and full understanding of both Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking
Valid Driver's License required (subject to motor vehicle record review).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Install network components and operating systems
Configure the network for fast, secure, reliable operation
Implement network standards, such as TCP/IP along with other network protocols
Responsible for all operations and support issues involving the Network Operations Center
Configure the Brocade Routers and Switches inside of the NTUA Data Center
Work with the Network Administrator to implement and improve Network Security
Work with the Network Administrator to develop both short and long term plans for the network to maintain and grow capacity to keep meeting existing and future requirements
Identify problem area on the Data Center network and recommend solutions
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
