What are the responsibilities and job description for the Training Supervisor (Exempt) position at Navajo Tribal Utility Authority?
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED certificate.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or a related field.
5-7 years of administrative experience.
Experience in computer systems.
Knowledge in utility operations preferred.
2 - 3 years Supervisor experience required.
Apprenticeship training experience preferred.
Knowledge of OSHA, US DOT, & USEPA, USDOL training requirements.
Valid State Driver's License required (subject to motor vehicle record review).
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Designs, develops implements, coordinates, operates, and evaluates training and educational program activities and resources designed to retain and enhance employees and their job performance.
Plans, organizes and directs the activities of HR staff involved in preparing Apprenticeship Training plans, Requests for Proposals, and completion of grant applications.
Involved in the preparing of the Apprenticeship Training plans, requests for proposals, and completion of grant applications.
Participates with the Navajo Nation Government, local colleges, Apprenticeship Councils, training organizations, and other concerned agencies in the development of training policies and procedures.
Develops and negotiates training contracts with employees, contractors, community, based organizations, local colleges, public non-profit agencies, and other governmental agencies.
Collaborates with supervisors and managers on employee training and development plans and programs.
Prepares reports to indicate progress of programs.
Prepares and submits annual training budget and allocations.
Ensures development and implementation of training procedures, manuals, and/or guidelines for the Authority.
Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality customer service.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
