Job Summary
The Water/Wastewater Foreman is responsible for overseeing employees, planning work duties, and ensuring compliance with regulatory laws and safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise employees directly, including selection, training, performance appraisal, and work allocation.
- Plan, organize, schedule, and supervise the work duties of assigned staff.
- Schedule preventive maintenance on water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
- Ensure compliance with surface water treatment rules of the Safe Water Drinking Act.
- Investigate customer complaints and recommend a course of action.
- Conduct routine inspections of water distribution systems and inform staff of recommended maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain well and maintenance records; review and approve project documents to ensure compliance with set standards and policies.
- Assist well operations in mobilization and demobilization of equipment, including pulling deep well turbines and submersible pumps.
- Provide job documentation in written reports and complete forms properly.
- Ensure staff comply with safety policies and maintain a safe work environment.
- Document all tailgate sessions for the crew prior to project work.
- Monitor, track, and report on water/wastewater projects within the responsible area.
- Track and report on Water Department Apprentices involved in the Apprenticeship program.
- Prepare preliminary cost estimates, bills of materials, and work order documents for large projects.
- Enter data on records manually or through data entry.
- Responsible for preparing the operation/maintenance budget and capital budget on an annual basis, ensuring expenditures are within budgeted amounts.
- Prepare purchase requisitions for equipment, tools, and necessary items.
- Use SAP to monitor and close out job orders.
- Ensure performance goals and objectives are met.
- Perform standby duties.
- Conduct safety meeting presentations.
