Work Schedule: Full-time 40 hours weekly; will be varying schedule dependent upon program needs
Position Summary: Community advocate under the supervision of the Executive Director, is responsible for providing crisis intervention and supportive services through the development of individualized care plans. The position requires an ability to respond in a sensitive manner to women, men, teens, and their children who may be in crisis and/or seeking support. Advocates provide incoming eligibility screening, support, crisis intervention, information and additional service coordination for survivors of family violence and sexual assault. Ensuring that our 24- hour hotline crisis and other calls will be handled as well as promoting community awareness as it pertains to domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking which may include presenting educational information in community settings.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provide advocacy and case management support to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
2. Provide recordkeeping and reports as required by funding sources, responsible for timely bi-weekly timesheets to meet payroll deadlines and other documentation necessary to produce billing as required by grant.
3. Advocate for children and adult victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.
4. Provide assistance to the Director with overall program efforts to meet grant requirements.
5. Maintain confidentiality of the program and clients served.
6. Must have basic computer skills in Microsoft Office to effectively utilize and prepare documents.
7. Be articulate and able to present during community outreach and/or fundraising events.
8. Be knowledgeable of program policies and procedures.
9. Be prepared to cover needs of program upon request.
10. Provide crisis intervention and support to incoming callers.
11. Assist in providing eligibility screening.
12. Attend staff meetings while on or off duty.
13. Provide field accompaniment to clients as needed: medical, criminal justice, civil legal, and social services.
14. Maintain for safekeeping, client files in compliance with grant and/or contract guidelines.
15. May be asked to facilitate a variety of support groups.
16. Complete and maintain client records that document services provided.
17. Educate clients about dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault and options/resources available.
18. Work with clients to develop and maintain relevant and meaningful case plans. Provide concrete case management services and access to in-house and external resources. Meet regularly with clients to support case plan and accomplishment.
19. Refer clients to other agencies and resources and advocate directly with other agencies as needed to help client access necessary services. Maintain service partnerships with referral agencies.
20. Complies with all rules and regulations of agency policies and safety procedures. Document program happenings and client activities as required.
21. Facilitate problem solving for conflicts and crises under supervision of Director, encourage and model appropriate interactions, mediate on behalf of clients when appropriate, provide appropriate follow-up documentation of emergency incidents or non-compliance.
22. Perform other duties as assigned which may include assisting other advocates.
23. Maintain all agency properties including cellphones, keys, etc. understanding that all property not personally owned by employee must be returned to agency upon completion of employment whether it be voluntary or involuntary.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of Associates Degree preferred in related field or equivalent work or volunteer experience and training preferred.
2. Awareness of relationship violence, child abuse, stalking, and sexual abuse and assault preferred.
3. Good oral and written communication and computer skills are required.
4. Bilingual (English/Navajo) preferred.
5. Must obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR certification, may include random drug screens.
6. Must pass a CYFD background check.
7. Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle and appropriate vehicle coverage and maintain driver’s eligibility as a condition of employment. Be eligible to be always put on agency vehicle insurance.
8. Prior leadership role/supervisory experience strongly preferred.
9. Prior grant compliance strongly preferred.

Pay: $25.00 - $26.50 per hour
