You don't need to be active duty military to serve your country! Responsibilities You will plan and lay out carpentry work in accordance with drawings, sketches, blueprints, or building codes. You will use wood or wood substitutes to construct structural items (e.g., building frames, rafters, concrete forms, walls, staircase. You will determine the tools, machinery, and equipment needed to complete carpentry work projects. You will repair wood items or wood substitute items (e.g., framework, trusses, rafters) to maintain functionality. The Screen-out Element for this position is : The ability to perform the work of a Carpenter without more than normal supervision performing duties such as : 1) Constructing and repairing wood and wood substitute structures and items requiring close fit and structural soundness; 2) Interpreting blueprints to determine the layout and work sequences of construction projects and 3) Operating power and hand tools and other woodworking equipment such as portable drills, clippers, joiners, shavers, sanders, routers, combustion type saws, drill presses and table saws. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements.
