The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Instrument Mechanic (IM) to join our team at our Kesselring site in West Milton, NY! Duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to : Install, remove, service, troubleshoot and calibrate all types of instruments, electronic devices, pressure gauges, etc. Construct, install, remove, dispose, repair, and modify equipment as necessary to support continued laboratory operations Direct lower rated employees; work from drawing / sketches, technical work packages / instructions, etc. Maintain necessary qualifications to perform required work Maintain all required paperwork and computer databases for documentation on the local area network Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill High school diploma or equivalent AND a minimum of 5 years of experience performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and / or calibrating instrumentation Basic understanding and knowledge of water chemistry Basic mechanical and electrical skillsPreferred Skills Associate's degree or higher or advanced education in fields related to metrology, electrical and electronic, pneumatic systems and / or hydraulic controls.
