In this role, the successful candidate would join a team of engineers who are responsible for driving the development, schedule, delivery, and troubleshooting efforts for an extensive catalog of Hardware Building Block (HWBB) components that are used throughout the submarine and aircraft carrier fleets. This position provides a unique opportunity to work on this important technology and drive innovative improvements to I&C equipment design while directly supporting the current and future fleets. The successful candidate should expect to be tasked with challenging work assignments that will make use of and enhance their engineering and professional skills and abilities. Engineers in I&C Hardware Development assist with or lead overall development efforts for HWBB components at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory by preparing and maintaining functional requirements, performing hands-on laboratory testing, working with system integrators to incorporate HWBB technology into plant designs, and troubleshooting emergent issues. They regularly interface with system owners and designers, equipment prime contractors, component vendors, and Naval Reactors personnel to accomplish this important work.Does this sound exciting to you?
