Apply here!The RCT Trainer position provides or oversees all radiological training to ensure personnel are trained to perform work safely and within requirements and regulations, both local and Federal. Ensures that the training programs follow applicable regulations and that both the training organizations and students' performance is being assessed. Creates or reviews practical and casualty response to ensure personnel are prepared to respond to issues involving a radiological hazard.The successful candidate may also be evaluated based on the following experience requirements : Qualified LAB-RC-0288 Article 108 Radiological Controls Technician (RCT) or Supervisory Radiological Controls Technician (SRCT). Ability to manage multiple tasks and training projects. The selected candidate should be comfortable speaking in front of large groups of people. Efficient in the use of Microsoft Office products and database applications. The selected candidate should be personable and be able to answer sometimes difficult questions in a timely manner.Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 19 years of relevant experience; or High school diploma or equivalent and qualification as a Naval Nuclear Propulsion Operator (or commercial nuclear equivalent) and a minimum of 17 years of relevant experience; or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university or Journeyman's papers or vocational certificate in a related field or successful completion of RCTQS and a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.Preferred Skills Experience with NRF Training policy and requirements. Annual salary is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerationsThe Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities : Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston. FMP employees also have an established presence at numerous shipyards and vendor locations. For nearly 70 years, the Naval Nuclear Laboratory has developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is a national asset solely dedicated to the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program. We rely on the dedication and innovation of our nearly 8000 engineers, scientists, technicians, and support personnel. All candidates must be U.S. citizens.
