Job Description
The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking an experienced facility electrical engineer to join our team. The selected candidate will support the team of engineers responsible for maintaining and modernizing the existing Reactor Plant Instrumentation and Control (RPI&C) test system infrastructure at Bettis site. The Electrical Community maintains a suite of laboratories that are used to qualify Reactor Plant Instrumentation and Control (RPI&C) software and hardware, enable swift response to fleet support activities, and to support crew familiarization with RPI&C systems. In this role you will be a liaison between the tenants of the Electrical Community lab and office space and the various support organizations necessary to fully support the site / facility / lab infrastructure.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 6 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field and 4 years of relevant experience; or Currently or previously Shift Supervisor Part I qualified; or EDO qualified and 2 years EOOW qualified in the Nuclear Operations Program; or 3 years SRE qualified and Water Instructor and Refueling Facility Area Refueling Engineer and Fuel and Barrier Shift Supervisor (ECF only); or SRE qualified and 6 years of experience.
Preferred Skills
- 3.0 GPA
- Naval Reactors (NR) Program or commercial nuclear experience with Reactor Plant and / or Steam Plant and / or Electric Plant Instrumentation and Control Systems and / or experience with Control Systems used in other non-nuclear industries.
- Experience with laboratory test systems used to develop and qualify Control Systems.
- Knowledge of NR Program or commercial practices to plan and execute operations work including electrical work.
- Effective time management and project management skills.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills with an ability to articulate technical content to a variety of stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits
Pay Range
92,900.00 - $145,200.00 annually
