About the Team
We are seeking a skilled Welding and Materials Engineer to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art welding and materials processing equipment in a R&D laboratory.
As a key member of our team, you will provide direct welding engineering support of the active Naval Fleet. You will also support the development and improvement of novel fabrication and joining methods, develop welding process parameters/procedures, and perform metallographic evaluations in a world-class laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of manual, mechanized, and automatic welding techniques/procedures;
- Plan and execute work programs, analyze experimental results, and prepare technical reports;
- OCCASIONAL TRAVEL TO VENDORS, SHIPYARDS, CONFERENCES TO SUPPORT TESTING AND PRODUCTION USE OF EQUIPMENT/PROCEDURES MAY BE REQUIRED;
