Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. Duties
- Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and government agencies.
- Review patient records for accuracy and completeness before billing.
- Utilize coding systems such as ICD-9 and ICD-10 to ensure correct diagnosis and procedure coding.
- Work with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies in billing or coding.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation in compliance with regulations.
- Communicate with patients regarding their bills, insurance coverage, and payment options.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical billing, preferably in a medical office setting.
- Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding and its application in billing processes.
- Proficiency in using medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
