STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS
Central & Western PA
The Structural Engineer participates in a wide range of projects varying in size and complexity that cover all aspects of building design including foundations, floor and roof framing, frames, and walls, with materials including concrete, masonry, steel, CFMF, and wood. Activities include use of engineering analysis software, project documentation in BIM and CAD, specification writing, cost estimating, and construction administration phase services. A wide range of project types are awarded, including existing building analysis and assessment for repairs, alterations, and upgrades. The Structural Engineer is expected to work with other project professionals including architects and MEP engineers on multi-disciplined projects.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Engineering Manager / Lead Structural Engineer with the delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, cost and schedule
- Work to ensure the implementation of safety and integrity principles in structural documentation
- Promote compliance with all relevant engineering standards and internal procedures for all design activities
- Maintain structural engineering work procedures, specifications and computer aided design programs
- Prepare engineering calculations
- Prepare technical specifications
- Provide input to engineering, operating and capital cost estimates
- Prepare and / or review project standard specifications and design criteria
- Participate in and contribute to design reviews
- Manage small projects
- Assist in defining project scope and fee
