POSITION SUMMARY:
The EMR/IT Specialist is responsible for hardware and software system analysis, trouble shooting and resolution. Responsible for opening, monitoring and tracking incident requests relating to both EMR and IT related issues. Offers direct support to the IT Manager. The EMR/IT Specialist is also available to assist all end-users on a day-to-day basis.
Primary Responsibilities:
Information Technology
- Provides direct support to the end-users organization wide as it relates to standard technical issues with applications and/or hardware or software failures.
- Software
- Assists in support of all-software applications organization-wide.
- Supports IT Manager in coordination with software vendors, licensing, upgrades, maintenance, application improvement and training programs.
- Assist in developing training curriculum for the end-users regarding upgrades and system functionality.
- Develop how-to documents and have them readily available to all end-users.
- Hardware
- Trouble-shoots and anticipates future hardware issues.
- Analyze information and make appropriate recommendations on equipment upgrades.
- Assists in working with vendors to ensure the best cost, reliability and safety factors.
- Networking & Computer Systems
- Learn and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the network and software program capabilities, functionality and workflows.
- Assists in coordination with third party vendors contracted to manage network to ensure efficiency and reliability.
- Interface with network engineers to support the maintenance of all local area networks.
- Monitor performance and recommend upgrades and/or processes as needed.
Electronic Medical Records
- Assist IT Manager & Data Analytics Specialist to ensure maximum support is provided to the end-user.
- Collect relevant information from the EMR company to ensure standard practices are documented and available to the end-user.
- Create teaching sheets and step-by-step processes to be used for training and available to the end-user.
- Work with the IT Manager to ensure all upgrades are rolled out on a timely basis.
- Support Data Analytics Specialist with all educational training
- Continuously maintain a comprehensive and clear understanding of all EMR capabilities and functionality.
- Participate in testing EMR functionality, applications and validate workflows.
General
- Practice effective communication and interpersonal skills to enhance positive teamwork and to accomplish goals/tasks.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements:
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills required (written, verbal and listening).
- Strong organizational skills include the ability to set priorities and manage complex workload.
- Willingness to learn and remain competent in EMR systems and have a strong understanding of the workflows being supported.
- Familiar with curriculum planning and common tools for presentations.
- Proven training, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work independently and collaboratively across department boundaries.
- Approachable, outgoing and enthusiastic as well as open and adaptable to change.
- Knowledgeable or has the ability to learn healthcare concepts and terminology.

Experience and Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or other related fields.
- Experience supporting the software is strongly preferred.
- Experience with education training and excellent presentation skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft and Apple Cloud products including Intune, Apple Business Manager and all related applications including but not limited to SharePoint, Teams, Outlook and iPads/iPhones.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and work with a wide variety of end-users, at varying technological skill levels a must.
Hours:
- Approximately 40 hours per week during normal work hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am through 4:30 pm.
- May require evenings/weekend assistance depending upon project roll out or system problems.
