POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for personnel records, assisting employees with questions related to HR matters, and assisting with HR Team functions.
Primary Responsibilities:
Administrative
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation
- Processes updates to the HRIS as needed
- Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
- Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
- Performs periodic audits and reports of HR records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
- Provides clerical support to the HR department.
- Provides backup phone coverage for main reception
Recruitment/Onboarding
- May assist with the recruitment process including attending job fairs and in-person events
- Completes required pre-employment processes such as background checks, verifications of employment, and screenings
- Conducts and assists with new hire orientation
- Assists with new hire data entry related to recruitment and onboarding
Employee Relations
- Schedule and coordinate training sessions for staff, tracks completion of required employee training
- Assists with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
- Actively participate as a member of the Culture Committee.

Experience and Educational Requirements:
- High School equivalent required. Associate degree in Human Resources preferred.
- Demonstrated regulatory knowledge in EEO areas.
- Intermediate computer skills, efficient with Microsoft Office applications. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must have knowledge and ability to create, navigate, and update spreadsheets.
Employment Requirements:
All offers are contingent on a candidate's successful completion of the following requirements:
- A legally compliant background check
- Drug Screen & Physical Exam
- Use of personal motor vehicle which meets valid registration and insurance requirements. Must possess a valid Drivers' License, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation. Must have acceptable driver's abstract.
Hours:
- Generally, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am through 4:30 pm, with occasional evening or weekend work as required
