What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Analyst position at Navient?
The Tax Analyst is responsible for assisting the State Tax Managing Director and Manager with all aspects of the state tax compliance function.
This is a hybrid role with 2 days a week out of our Herndon, VA office.
1. State Tax Compliance
- Prepare / review state income tax returns, estimates, and extensions
- Prepare / review state and local non-income tax returns
- Respond to state tax notices as needed
2. Federal Tax Compliance
3. Prepare State ASC740 (Income Tax Provision) Calculations on an Annual and Quarterly Basis
4. Prepare State FIN 48 (Uncertain Tax Position) Calculations
5. State Tax Audits
6. Support Company’s Internal Control Process Design and Testing
