ABOUT THE ROLE

Under general supervision, but following established policies and procedures, is responsible for developing and maintaining organizational reports, metrics, and scorecards / dashboards. The Data Analyst ensures accurate and timely distribution of data in support of organizational goals and responsibilities. The Data Analyst identifies opportunities to further leverage existing data applications for continuous process improvement around the distribution and consumption of organizational / external data.

WHAT YOU WILL DO ( in descending order of importance )

  • Writes and optimizes SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various databases.
  • Generates and maintains existing dashboards and reports ensuring accuracy and consistent delivery methods through use of automated tools and workflows.
  • Assists with creation of board reporting.
  • Collaborates with data science team and organizational stakeholders to understand data requirements and provides actionable insights.
  • Ensures accurate and timely information gathering for internal and external audit requests.
  • Assists in data cleaning, validation, and preparation for analysis.
  • Documents processes and maintains data dictionaries
  • Performs other reporting, analysis, project, and administrative related duties as assigned by the FVP, Financial Planning & Analysis and Data Science Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS : Education

Minimum one year in Banking or Financial Services required

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, Accounting, Marketing preferred

Experience / Skills / Knowledge :

  • Knowledge of banking processes, products, terms, and data structures.
  • Strong knowledge of advanced Excel.
  • Basic understanding of data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Strong member service orientation. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to handle simultaneously, multiple tasks and changing priorities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work / learn independently.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or R is an advantage.
