ABOUT THE ROLE
Under general supervision, but following established policies and procedures is responsible for leading and managing facility design, construction or maintenance projects as well as performing general interior and exterior maintenance of all credit union facilities. Responsible for performing a variety of commercial building construction tasks, general maintenance, overseeing routine and complex renovation projects and remodeling as needed. Duties may include but are not limited to: facilities project management, carpentry work, finish repairs, HVAC maintenance, plumbing repairs, purchase of cleaning/maintenance supplies, scheduling on-going and contracted maintenance, cleaning branches and trash removal. Coaches, mentors and provides leadership to other Facilities' team members and acts as the manager in charge in the absence of the VP and AVP. Responsible for completion of assigned errands and tasks per requests or on authorized schedules.
WHAT YOU WILL DO (in descending order of importance)
- Manages all aspects of routine and complex facility design, construction or maintenance projects. Coordinates work activities of internal facilities staff, contractors and subcontractors to ensure satisfactory delivery of assigned capital improvement projects.
- Oversees the project life cycle of assigned facilities projects to ensure proper delivery and execution. Tracks progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines or other performance indicators and prepares and delivers reports/updates to management.
- Inspects all building locations to determine the need for repairs and renovations.
- Obtains bids/proposals from contractors for approved projects and any contract renewals. Makes various recommendations to manager when outside subcontractor assistance is required.
- Performs various building maintenance tasks including but not limited to door and door hardware, wall and floor coverings, metal stud and drywall, mounting equipment or items to walls, faucet and toilet repairs, and drain cleaning.
- Ensures inside and outside of credit union facilities are clear of trash and other debris. Ensures parking lots are maintained and painted according to schedules. Removes snow and/or ice from properties due to inclement weather.
- Mentors, coaches, and trains team members on facility-related issues. Provides leadership and directs the work of other facilities employees to complete tasks and projects, as needed. Acts as the manager in charge of the Facilities department during the absence of the AVP and VP of Facilities.
- Performs a variety of facilitates duties including but not limited to replacing light bulbs, moving furniture, relocating records, and setting up rooms for meetings, etc. Maintains inventory of necessary supplies, i.e. light bulb, hardware and tools.
- Performs and/or coordinates in-house repairs, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing and construction. Performs general maintenance of all credit union properties, ensuring that all equipment is functioning properly.
- Performs all duties of a courier or assists the courier, as needed.
- Performs other facilities project and/or clerical related duties, as required and assigned by the Assistant Vice President, Facilities and/or Vice President, Facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) education required. An associate's degree or project management certification in facilities management preferred.
Experience/Skills/Knowledge:
- Minimum 10 years' experience of a construction or general maintenance background required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Must be familiar with the proper operation and maintenance of power and hand tools.
- Must have the ability to function in an environment in which working conditions vary: noise, heat, dust, snow, ice, etc.
- Must have strong project management skills in order to execute on facilities-related projects effectively.
- Must have strong service orientation in alignment with the credit union's mission and core values.
- Prior supervisory experience highly preferred. Must have the ability to train, lead, mentor and coach team members in support of project and department deliverables.
- Must be proficient in a Microsoft application environment i.e. Outlook, Teams.
- Must have the ability to lift boxes and other equipment up to 60 lbs..Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and produce an effective outcome.
- Excellent verbal and reading comprehension skills required. Must be able to read and write.
- Excellent organizational ability and time management skills required.
- Ability to function in a financial institution branch environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: postage machine, fax, copier, telephone, etc. Travel required
