ABOUT THE ROLE

Under general supervision of the Talent Acquisition Manager and following policies and procedures supports the Human Resources Department primarily through the performance of Talent Acquisition duties. Participates in all aspects of full life cycle recruiting including partnering with hiring managers to source, screen, interview and assess candidates. Assists the Talent Acquisition Manager in developing programs and partnerships for sourcing pipelines; recommends and implements recruiting best practices in the development and delivery of relevant training as subject matter expert; makes job offers to candidates and promotes the benefits of working for the credit union. Provides other recruiting and/or HR support as needed.


WHAT YOU WILL DO
(in descending order of importance)

  • Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization to identify talent within and outside of the credit union.
  • Develops screening and interview plans with Hiring Managers to ensure a consistent and efficient hiring process.
  • Works with managers to determine job specific competencies and develop sample behavioral-based interview questions.
  • Conducts initial phone screenings with candidates as may be required by the recruiting plan and partners with Branch / Department hiring managers to schedule onsite job interviews. Participates as necessary in first and second interviews with various levels of management. Corresponds with managers and potential hires throughout the process.
  • Manages the Applicant Tracking System (ApplicantPro) workflows, data input and integrity, tracks all internal and external requisitions and progress toward filling same. Assists users in navigating the system. Performs user access functions and user access reviews of the ATS system per the User Access review schedule.
  • Tracks and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to recruitment activities, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Partners with the VP, Human Resources in determining compensation for prospective employees before making offer. Extends job offers to candidates verbally and in writing as well as sends notifications to candidates interviewed but not considered for position. Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers.
  • Works actively to build networks to attract strong job candidates by maintaining a vast network of members of the community, organizations, college partnerships, etc. Attends and participates in college job fairs and community recruiting sessions.
  • Serves as a backup in initiating background and credit check processes. Adheres to Fair Credit Report Act regulations and notifications to candidates. Completes pre-adverse and adverse action process when necessary.
  • Participates in job fairs and community events to build brand awareness and recruit new talent.
  • Participates in the Affirmative Action data collection process. Ensures that annual recruiting plan incorporates strategies designed to meet any Affirmative Action goals.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies as it relates to the recruiting function.
  • Maintains and controls certain confidential records of the Credit Union.
  • Represents the Credit Union in local civic, community and professional organizations as requested.
  • Supports other duties as directed by the Talent Acquisition Manager and other members of HR management.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

BA/BS degree in Human Resources or related field required. PHR or SHRM-CP preferred.


Experience
/Skills/Knowledge:

  • Minimum two years previous experience as a full-cycle recruiter required, including sourcing and interviewing candidates, preferably in a credit union or financial institution.
  • Current network of recruitment sources, including professional networks, business affiliations or similar preferred.
  • Working knowledge of ATS systems, recruitment software, dashboards, and reporting of recruitment metrics required.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to handle an average requisition load of 20-25 positions.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of laws and regulations impacting the hiring/recruiting function.
  • Must have excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have the ability to conduct presentations and training programs.
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple projects/priorities simultaneously under strict deadlines with effective outcomes.
  • Must have the ability to deal with highly confidential information.
  • Must possess strong service orientation skills in alignment with the Credit Union's mission and core values.
  • Excellent verbal, written, telephone and interpersonal communication skills required.
  • Must be PC proficient, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the Internet.
  • Must have the ability to function in a commercial office environment and utilize standard office equipment including but not limited to: fax, copier, telephone, etc. Ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs. e.g. file boxes
  • Some travel to branches and within the community required. May be required to attend out of state conferences and seminars related to the role.
  • Bilingual Spanish preferred, but not required.
