Job Overview
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing the 1st shift Maintenance Department. The role focuses on ensuring the proper functioning and protection of all equipment, the building, and support machinery.
Maintenance Program Support
Oversees the implementation and management of a maintenance program, including maintaining an inventory of spare parts for critical equipment like laminators, die cutters, printers, and other machinery.
- Utilizes CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to track and support equipment maintenance, ensuring that modifications and preventive maintenance programs are updated and well-documented.
Database Management
Regularly updates the CMMS database, supporting changes to the preventive maintenance program and ensuring that machine vendor documentation is captured and available.
- Ensures that modifications and updates to the database are done in a timely manner to avoid any disruptions to the manufacturing process.
Contractor Management
Manages outside contractors and services as assigned by senior management, ensuring that their work complies with company standards and regulations.
- Provides oversight and coordination of contractor activities to ensure that they meet the required quality and safety standards.
Collaboration with Other Shifts
Works across shifts to coordinate the installation of new machinery and equipment within set timelines.
- Communicates effectively with team members from other shifts to ensure a smooth transition of tasks and responsibilities.
Regulatory Compliance
Collaborates with the safety manager to acquire necessary permits and certifications from local or state authorities, ensuring all permits are valid and up to date.
- Ensures that all regulatory requirements are met and that the facility remains compliant with relevant laws and regulations.
A degree in industrial, mechanical, or electrical engineering is required. Experience in manufacturing operations, specifically within maintenance, is also essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and the ability to learn new technologies are must-haves. Bilingual Spanish is an asset in this role.
