Position Overview:

Navigate360 is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Government Affairs to lead our state and local policy engagement efforts and advance legislation that supports our mission to build safer, more supportive schools. This high-impact role will shape Navigate360’s public policy strategy, build and strengthen relationships with policymakers and education leaders, and identify opportunities to align our work with state and legislative priorities. Working directly with executive leadership, the Head of Government Affairs will also work cross-functionally with communications, sales, and product teams to support market entry and scale efforts across key states. The ideal candidate is a proactive, entrepreneurial leader with deep expertise in state government relations, particularly in education, school safety, or public-sector technology, and a passion for driving real-world impact through policy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute Nav360’s government affairs strategy across key states (including Texas, Michigan, Florida, California, and others)
  • Build and manage relationships with state lawmakers, governors’ offices, education departments, lobbyists, and local school officials
  • Understand, monitor, and track legislation, state funding sources related school safety initiatives, and regulatory developments that may impact Nav360’s operations or customer base
  • Represent Nav360 in coalitions, advocacy organizations, and relevant industry groups
  • Draft testimony, policy memos, and talking points for executive leadership and allies
  • Serve as a key advisor and partner to internal teams on strategic communications and market entry strategy in new states, collaborating closely to co-create state strategies

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 8 years in government relations, public affairs, or a related field, ideally with experience in EdTech, GovTech, government procurement, or education policy
  • Strong network of state-level contacts, particularly in education and public safety policy
  • Demonstrated success advocating at the state government level and influencing legislation or regulation
  • Experience managing consultants at the state level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven startup environment
